Agrics Ltd is a social enterprise registered in Kenya and working in Kenya and Tanzania that procures quality farm inputs off-season when prices are low, and sells and distributes them to smallholder farmers on credit at the onset of the production season. Availing the inputs on credit overcomes the main threshold experienced by most smallholders, being a lack of cash.
In parallel, together with partner ICS, Agrics builds the farmers' capacity by providing them access to up-to-date and practical knowledge related to agricultural practice and stimulates them to use this knowledge to improve their farm practice, significantly increasing the impact of providing quality, inputs.
Agrics competitive advantage in the market is its integrated approach, combining a strong relationship with customers, an efficient logistical process, a credit scheme and capacity building.
Being a social enterprise, Agrics aims to' increase household income and food security for smallholder farmers through increased yields.

About the positions
Function Title: Business Manager Agrics Tanzania
Reports to: General Manager, Agrics Tanzania
Location: Shinyanga, Tanzania
Position type: Full time (1 year contract, renewable)
Summary:
The Business Manager is responsible for overseeing and supervising Agrics' day to day commercial activities and employees, including (currently) 3 Field Coordinators and a number of Community Facilitators. S/he organizes and oversees all operations including sales, procurement, and distribution and credit repayment and at the same times makes sure that Agrics is on track to meet its financial goals, develops and implements budgets, prepares reports for the General
Manager and ensures commercial staff have the resources to complete their work successfully

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all Agrics business related activities.
- Oversee the distribution of quality farm inputs to farmers on credit as well as repayment.
- Manage all procurement processes of quality inputs from suppliers expected to be distributed to farmers in rural areas.
- Supervise all business employees including Field Coordinators and Community Facilitators in the area of operations.
- Prepare financial reports of all commercial activities carried out at monthly and quarterly bases.
- Create and develop business opportunities through market intelligence, participation in trade forums/conferences and other channels.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships through excellent customer service in order to achieve customer loyalty and maximize share of wallet.
Qualifications
- A master's degree in Business Administration, Community Economics Development, Agricultural Economics, or Entrepreneurship.
Skills and experience.
- Work experience of no less than 5 years in business development and/or management, preferably in the Agribusiness sector, with ability to grow the organization to higher level.
- Sales and/or marketing experience in a business to consumer environment Knowledge, skills and experience in (micro) credit management and credit recovery, Knowledge of rural economic development issues in Tanzania.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal and excellent communication skills with proven ability to work independently and achieve results at scale
