THE GOVERNMENT CHEMIST LABORATORY AGENCY
The Government Chemist Laboratory Agency is an Executive Agency under the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare. The Laboratory is Mandated in carrying out laboratory testing of Industrial and natural products samples; Forensic and Toxicological samples; regulation and control of Human DNA (regulations)
Act.Cap 182. The Agency is expected to better meet the requirements of its customers and public in general.
In order to meet the above obligations Government Chemist Laboratory Agency wishes to recruit qualified Tanzanians to fill various posts on permanent & pensionable terms as follows:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 Facilitate microbiological examination of food, drugs, water, Chemicals products and their raw materials;
 Develop and conduct sampling and testing programs, including Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) for the section;
 Review, and Validate analytical methods
 Prepare technical reports of tested samples and provision of consultancy services;
 Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual summary of samples analyzed;
 Initiate and conduct researches relevant to the section;
 Represent the GCLA in court proceedings; and
 Develop and implement section plans and budgets.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
 Master’s Degree either in Chemistry, Biochemical Engineering, Food Science and Technology, Microbiology, Biochemistry or Biotechnology, from recognized higher learning institutions.
 Must possess Computer literacy.
 Should have at least nine (9) years working experience in related field, two (2) of which in a senior position.
