PURPOSE AND SCOPE
Production Manager will be responsible for Petroleum drilling activities; He/she will carry out reservoir management, modeling activities and petroleum and production activities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensures preparation of petroleum Engineering programs;
• Supervises preparation of field development plans and oversees execution of the same;
• In collaboration with the Principal Geologist, Principal geophysicist prepares exploration programs, plans and strategies both short-and-Iong terms;
• Prepares petroleum operations projects cost estimates and budgets;
• Ensures provision of petroleum engineering services within the directorate;
• Ensures that reservoir engineering studies are carried out which includes: estimate of reserves and production profiles;
• Ensures petroleum and drilling activities are conducted;
• Ensures reservoir management is conducted;
• Ensures reservoir modeling activities are carried out;
• Ensures petroleum production activities are carried out;
• Ensures wells are completed to A.P.I standards in compliance with best international petroleum industry practice;
• Monitors exploration companies which have agreements with TPDC;
• Ensures training needs falling under the Drilling, Reservoir Management and Petroleum Production units are met;
• Liaises with exploration manager and manager of international operations to support logistics in petroleum exploration, development and production operations;
• Supervises preparation of drilling plans, approves and execution of the same;
• Advises the Director of Upstream Operations on the petroleum engineering related matters;
• Provides advisory services to the government in the preparation of policies, regulation and guidelines related to the sector;
• Ensures adequate provision of HSEE services in petroleum Operations;
• Undertakes any other related duties as assigned by superior.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Direct Entry Qualifications:
Holder of a Master's Degree in Petroleum engineering or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution. A holder of PhD degree in the related field will be of added advantage.

WORKING EXPERIENCE
At least 10 years' experience of which 3 years must be at senior level. Proven high administrative and managerial ability in the oil industry and knowledge of international oil business is essential.
