Introduction
Earth Sciences Institute of Shinyanga (ESIS) is a Private Technical Institute licensed by the
National Council for Technical Education of Tanzania (NACTE) with Reg. No REG/EOS/041
to offer Exploration and Mining Geology, Petroleum Geosciences, Mining Engineering,
Mineral Processing and Gemology courses. ESIS’s head office is located at Ndala in
Shinyanga Municipality while classes and dormitories are currently located within the
mining premises of Williamson Diamond Limited in Mwadui Shinyanga.

2. Department: Administration
3. Report to: Administrator
Qualities, Skills and Qualifications:
1. At least a basic certificate or diploma in accounting
2. Knowledge of QuickBooks program
3. Knowledge of MS Excel and Access Database
4. Team player and Self motivated
5. Transparent and trustworthy person
6. Able to work under high pressure and long hours
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Maintains accounting records by making copies; filing documents both hard copies and electronic.
2. Reconciles bank statements by comparing statements with chart of account ion QuickBooks.
3. Maintains accounting databases by entering data into the QuickBooks programs and perform regular
secure backups.
4. Specifically reconcile students’ fee payment status with bank deposit
5. Perform a regular ESIS Asset verification and correct or report the abnormalities immediately
6. Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
7. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
8. Prepare and submit to the supervisor accounting reports, asset report and fee payment status report
9. Any other duties as may be assigned by his/her supervisor
